Squash blossom necklaces are unreal. Which I guess can also be taken literally since squash blossom necklaces have nothing to do with actual squash blossoms. We white man translate badly. But I'll save the history lesson for another day. Shallow life goal: own a Zuni Needlepoint necklace.

  1. It was my goal to own a squash blossom and I finally bought one for $1000 a few years ago. I felt beyond awesome and wealth when I'd wear it. I was a proud owner for several years. One day I found myself in a financial bind and cried because I knew I had to part with my squash blossom. There was no other way. So I traded it for cash at a trading post in town. Away it went on it's long journey, it had been bought there and was a vintage piece. I am sure it found a wonderful owner. I visited the trading post recently and traded in some odds and ends for store credit. The plan is, another squash blossom.

  2. Oh man, that must have been pretty heartbreaking. Although it does add to the necklaces authenticity if they are going sell it as old pawn I guess. I bet it was a beauty. I use to stalk them on eBay hoping to get a deal but I feel like the good ones are always in the $1000+ range. One day :) When you save up enough store credit to get a new one please send me a picture I'd love to see it.
